Russian drone attacks are a response to our proposal for an Easter truce — Zelenskyy
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia’s massive attack on April 1 was a response to Ukraine’s initiative to declare a ceasefire on Easter.
The head of state announced this.
According to him, over the course of 24 hours, air defense forces shot down more than 700 enemy drones, most of which were “Shaheds.”
The interception rate was about 90%, but there were also hits in various regions, including Volyn, Zakarpattia, Ternopil, Bukovina, Cherkasy, and Prykarpattia.
Among the enemy’s main targets are energy infrastructure, as well as civilian facilities, including warehouses and residential buildings.
Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine had openly proposed a ceasefire but received drone strikes in response.
As a reminder, the Russians attacked the Kyiv region with drones: there is damage.
Russia also attacked Ukraine with 164 drones; air defense forces destroyed 150 UAVs.
