Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated more than 1,200 occupiers in the past day
As of the morning of 23 January 2026, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a significant increase in the losses of the Russian army. Over the past day, the destruction of more than 1,200 servicemen was confirmed, indicating prolonged and intense fighting along the front line.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion on 24 February 2022, total personnel losses of the Russian army have reached approximately 1,232,090 people.
Personnel and armoured vehicles
As of 23 January, the destruction of 11,599 tanks has been confirmed, three of which were disabled over the past day. Losses of armoured combat vehicles amounted to 23,946 units, also increasing by three over the day.
Artillery and firepower systems
A significant increase was recorded in artillery systems. As of 23 January, total losses reached 36,549 units, which is 33 more than the previous day. The number of destroyed multiple launch rocket systems remains at 1,623 units.
Aviation, air defence and drones
During the war, the Russian army has lost 1,282 air defence systems. Losses of 434 aircraft and 347 helicopters have also been confirmed. A separate increase was noted in destroyed operational and tactical-level unmanned aerial vehicles — 113,277 units in total, including 449 over the past day.
Fleet, missiles and logistics equipment
Since the beginning of the invasion, 4,190 cruise missiles, 28 ships and boats, and two submarines have been destroyed. Losses of vehicles and fuel tankers reached 75,556 units, with an increase of 140 vehicles over the past day. The number of destroyed special equipment rose to 4,050 units.
The data released as of 23 January reflect the intensity of the fighting and the sustained pressure on Russia’s military resources across all main directions.

The situation along the front line remains tense, with active use of aviation, drones and artillery by the enemy. At the same time, Ukrainian forces are successfully holding their positions, demonstrating resilience and readiness to continue the fight.
On the night of 23 January, Russia carried out a massive attack on Ukraine, using 101 attack drones, including new models of Shahed and “Gerbera”.
On 22 January, Russian occupying forces carried out four strikes on Komyshuvakha in the Zaporizhzhia district. As a result of the attack, one person was killed and ten were injured, including eight women. Six of the injured are in hospital, where they are receiving medical care.
