Belgorod hit by missiles, Rostov-on-Don targeted by drones

On the night of 5 February, the Russian cities of Belgorod and Rostov-on-Don came under attack, alarming local residents.

Belgorod was struck by a missile, reportedly using HIMARS systems, which triggered air raid sirens across the city.

At the same time, residents of the Rostov region reported a massive drone attack, with explosions heard in Rostov-on-Don and nearby towns.

Eyewitnesses noted that the drones entered the region from the Taganrog Bay area, while local authorities claimed that more than a dozen aerial targets were destroyed. So far, there are no reports of damage, but the situation indicates an escalation of tensions in the region following recent attacks on other Russian territories.

These events occur against the backdrop of increasing drone attacks on Russian territory, including a similar incident in Volgograd region, where a drone strike also caused situations requiring urgent response by local services.

The Russian side claimed to have shot down over a dozen aerial targets. At this time, there are no reports of damage to any facilities.
