Blackout in Artsyz: when to expect electricity to return

In the city of Artsyz, Odesa region, electricity may not be restored until December 26. Following Russian strikes on the region’s energy infrastructure, specialists from DTEK continue large-scale repair work, the company reported.

Over the past four days, electricity has been restored to almost 583,700 households, but 32,900 homes remain without power.

“Repair work continues around the clock, but it is complex and requires time. Our energy workers are working without rest to stabilize the situation and return electricity to every household,” DTEK stated.

The company also noted that some subscribers will receive power on December 26. At the same time, all available capacity entering the region is being used to provide at least partial electricity supply to residents. In the past 24 hours, energy workers managed to restore power to over 250,000 additional households.

For context, on the night of Saturday, December 13, Russia carried out large-scale missile strikes on Odesa, Odesa region, and several other cities.

After the night attack, Artsyz was left without electricity, and restoration is not expected even within a week. The city mayor, Serhiy Parpulanskyi, warned that the situation is difficult. He added that in villages and the military town, the prospects are better but still unsatisfactory.
