Budanov confirmed Zelenskyy's plans to close Russian airspace
Kirill Budanov, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, supported Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s decision and stated that Ukraine would respond firmly and proportionately to Russia’s aerial terror. According to him, guided by the right to self-defense, Ukrainian long-range weapons will systematically target military objectives on enemy territory.
International airlines, insurers, and partners have been officially warned about the loss of safety in Russian airspace. The official emphasized that Ukraine respects diplomatic efforts and is prepared to implement targeted pauses solely for the sake of concrete steps toward ending the war; however, as long as the aggression continues, Ukrainian drones and missiles will strike Russian targets.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned airlines, insurers, and other companies that use Russian airspace about the increasing danger of flying over Russia. According to him, due to the war and the activity of Ukrainian drones, Russian airspace will effectively become unsuitable for safe civilian flights.
The stock prices of Russian airlines, particularly Aeroflot, plummeted following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s statement. The head of state officially warned airlines, insurance companies, and international partners about a significant increase in the threat in Russian airspace due to the widespread use of Ukrainian drones.
