Kellogg’s daughter reacts strongly to Russian strike on miners in Ukraine
Megan Mobbs, daughter of the U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, commented on the Russian attack on a service bus transporting miners after their shift in Dnipropetrovsk region. She shared her statement on social media platform X.
Mobbs emphasized that despite discussions of potential peace talks, Russian strikes are not slowing down—they are intensifying.
She called the attack on workers’ transport “yet another horrific tragedy” and noted that talks about any documents or plans for ‘prosperity or peace’ now feel detached from reality.
She stressed a direct link between the escalation of Russian attacks and attempts to advance the negotiation process.
Mobbs also highlighted the issue of accountability. In her view, as long as U.S. negotiators do not acknowledge that strikes are escalating alongside negotiations and do not demand consequences for Russia, discussions about peace will remain a charade. She wrote:
“Until U.S. negotiators recognize this and hold Russia accountable, the farce of peace will continue.”
The attack on the miners’ bus in Dnipropetrovsk was carried out by online-controlled Shahed drones.
Dnipropetrovsk region declared a Day of Mourning following the strike on the DTEK miners’ bus.
