The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has summarized its activities for June and released some striking statistics. Over the past month, border guards intercepted and destroyed more than 8,000 Russian drones, including hundreds of attack drones. The agency also released footage of the successful elimination of enemy targets.
How Border Guards Destroy Enemy UAVs
As part of the Defense Forces, the State Border Guard Service continues to effectively defend Ukrainian airspace against aerial threats. To counter enemy drones, border guards use modern weapons and technology.
In particular, to intercept and destroy Russian aerial targets, border guards use small arms, modern air defense systems, electronic warfare systems, and the latest interceptor drones.
“Effective countermeasures in the sky—border guards continue to destroy enemy drones en masse,” the State Border Guard Service emphasized.
How many drones were destroyed in a month
Thanks to coordinated efforts, State Border Guard Service units grounded more than 8,000 Russian drones in June alone.
The agency specified that among this number, they managed to neutralize nearly 900 attack drones of the “Shahed” and “Gerbera” types.
Massive attacks by Russia
As a reminder, Russian troops continue to attack Ukrainian regions every night, combining missile strikes with swarms of various types of drones.
In particular, on the night of July 4, the occupiers launched an “Iskander-M” ballistic missile at Ukraine from the temporarily occupied Crimea, a guided X-59/69 air-to-ground missile from the Black Sea, as well as 86 attack drones.
This was reported with reference to the official Telegram channel of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
