A drone damaged an election commission office in Samara, 1,000 km from Ukraine
On the night of September 11, explosions were heard in Samara, after which it was reported that a drone had crashed into the building of the regional election commission. The distance from the city to Ukraine is about 1,000 km.
According to reports circulating on Russian media and Telegram channels, the building housed ballots and informational materials for the Russian State Duma elections. As a result of the drone crash, the building’s facade was damaged and blackened by smoke. It was reported that there were no fatalities or injuries, and no fire broke out.
According to one account, the drone was not aimed directly at the election commission. It was likely damaged by Russian air defense systems over Samara, after which the drone crashed into the building.
Ella Pamfilova, chair of the Russian Central Election Commission, confirmed the damage to the building. According to her, the building housed the equipment for the “Elections” State Automated System, which is used to count votes and process election results.
At the same time, according to widespread reports, ballots and election materials were not damaged as a result of the incident.
On the night of September 10–11, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Saratov Oil Refinery in Russia. Fires were reported on the refinery’s grounds following the attack.
As of the morning of September 10, 2026, the Russian army’s total personnel losses since the start of the full-scale invasion amount to approximately 1,502,390 soldiers. In the past 24 hours alone, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia lost another 1,520 servicemen.
The day before, 221 combat engagements were recorded on the front lines over the course of 24 hours. The enemy launched the most attacks in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian forces repelled 21 assaults, and Russian troops lost more than 60 occupiers.
