Sumy’s power system damaged following a Russian drone attack
Due to a massive drone attack, most of the city of Sumy has been left without electricity.
This was reported by the head of the Sumy Military-Civil Administration, Serhiy Kryvosheyenko, on Telegram.
According to him, the city’s power system was hit. The city water utility is switching to backup power.
Healthcare facilities are also operating on generators. Efforts to address the consequences are complicated by the ongoing aerial threat.
Earlier, acting mayor of Sumy Artem Kobzar reported that more than eight explosions had occurred in Sumy, mostly on the outskirts. Mobile fire-response units are operating.
Prior to this, the Ukrainian Air Forces had warned about drones in the sky over Sumy Oblast and about KAB (guided bomb) launches.
