EU condemns Russian strikes near Ukraine-Poland border

In Brussels, Belgium, the European Union strongly condemned the latest strikes by Russia, the aggressor state, near the Ukrainian-Polish border, including an attack on a passenger train. European Commission spokesperson Anouar El Anouni told Anadolu Agency this in a written statement.

Train evacuation

According to the German publication Der Spiegel, a privately chartered train travelling from Kyiv to Poland was evacuated after a Russian drone attack nearby. The publication reported that European officials and former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson were on board the train.

Air defense support

El Anouni also recalled the EU's recent decision to approve €6.1 billion, or $7 billion, in support for Ukraine's air and missile defense.

According to him, the European Union will continue to firmly support Ukraine's right to defend itself against Russian aggression.
