The General Staff has updated its figures on Russian casualties in Ukraine as of September 16
As of September 16, 2026, the Ukrainian military had killed 1,530 Russian occupiers over the past 24 hours. The Russian Federation’s total military losses rose by another 1,530 soldiers.
As of September 16, Russia has lost the following in the war with Ukraine:
- personnel – approximately 1,511,530 (+1,530) individuals;
- tanks – 12,345 (+0) units;
- armored combat vehicles – 25,339 (+5);
- artillery systems – 49,820 (+27) units;
- multiple-launch rocket systems – 2,132 (+1);
- air defense systems – 1,642 (+4);
- aircraft – 442 (+0);
- helicopters – 356 (+0);
- ground-based robotic systems – 2,630 (+4) units;
- operational-tactical UAVs – 519,069 (+789) units;
- cruise missiles – 5,111 (+0) units;
- ships/boats – 35 (+0) units;
- submarines – 2 (+0) units;
- Vehicles and tanker trucks – 149,557 (+374) units;
- specialized equipment – 4,692 (+2) units.

As a reminder, three Ukrainians fighting for Russia were captured in Chasovoy Yar.
On September 15, a Russian drone strike was recorded in Kyiv’s Sviatoshynsky District. Black smoke is rising from the site.
In the Solomyanskyi district of the capital, a strike was recorded on the grounds of a garage cooperative.
