Ukrainian Cabinet simplifies arms export permits

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a new procedure that simplifies the review of documents for obtaining permits and conclusions from the State Export Control Service. This concerns international transfers of military and dual-use goods under Ukraine’s intergovernmental and interagency agreements.

According to the Ukrainian Arms Council, the simplified procedure will apply only if a valid international agreement exists between Ukraine and the partner country. The control conditions and required guarantees must be included directly in the text of the agreement.

This means that key checks are carried out at the stage of approving the international agreement, rather than for each individual export operation, significantly reducing time and bureaucracy for companies.

Once the agreement enters into force, a company submits an application to the State Export Control Service with a shortened set of documents and can receive the permit or conclusion within 15 days.

The government expects that the new procedure will be most beneficial for companies that work with long-term foreign partners. The aim is to increase the efficiency of export control while ensuring Ukraine’s compliance with international obligations and promoting the development of defense-industrial cooperation with foreign partners.

Separately, reports from the New York Post claim that a mysterious U.S. sonic weapon temporarily paralyzed Venezuelan soldiers.

This comes amid ongoing U.S.–Venezuela negotiations on resuming oil exports.

Venezuela has also stated it will never be a colony of any empire.
