Map of Hostilities in Ukraine and the Situation on the Front Lines on July 21
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has released an operational update on the situation at the front as of July 21, 2026. Over the past 24 hours, there were 217 combat engagements with Russian forces.
Yesterday, the enemy launched two missile strikes using two missiles and carried out 78 airstrikes, during which it dropped 254 guided bombs. In addition, the invaders deployed 10,408 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,346 shelling attacks on populated areas and our troops’ positions, including 38 using multiple launch rocket systems.
Over the past day, the Defense Forces’ air force, missile forces, and artillery struck three areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, five artillery systems, and two drone command posts.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors over the past day, our defenders repelled one enemy assault. At the same time, the aggressor carried out two airstrikes using seven guided bombs and fired 50 rounds at the positions of our troops and populated areas, including two using multiple-launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Ukrainian units repelled seven enemy attacks. The invaders attempted to advance in the Starytsia area, as well as toward Tsehelne, Vovchanski Khutory, Izbytske, and Kolodyazne.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy launched three attacks in the directions of Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka, and Kurylivka. Attempts to breach our defenses were repelled in the Lyman sector, where the occupiers attacked fifteen times in the areas of Lyman, Stavky, and Ozerny, as well as in the directions of Shyikivka, Drobysheve, and Novoselivka.
In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy carried out 30 assault operations in the areas of Kryva Luka, Zakitne, and Riznykivka, as well as in the directions of Kaleniky and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the occupiers launched six attacks in the directions of Fedorivka Druha, Nykyforivka, Yurkivka, and Vasyutynske. Fourteen attacks were recorded in the Kostiantynivka sector. The occupiers carried out assaults in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Ivanopil, and Illinivka, as well as in the direction of Rusyno Yar.
In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders repelled 29 attacks. The enemy was active in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Bilytske, and Serhiivka, and also carried out assaults in the directions of Shevchenko, Novyi Shakhovyi, Vilne, Toretsk, Sofiivka, Kuchero-Yar, Myrne, Udachne, Novopidhorodne, and Novopavlivka. In the Oleksandrivka sector, the invaders carried out four attacks in the directions of the settlements of Vorone, Oleksandrohrad, and Ternove.
In the Huliaipole sector, the occupiers launched 14 attacks. The enemy attempted to advance toward Verkhnia Tersa, Vozdvizhivka, Tsvitkove, Kosivtseve, and Hirke. In the Orikhiv sector, our defenders repelled two enemy attempts to advance toward Maly Shcherbakiv and Bilohirya. In the Dnipro sector, the enemy did not conduct any assault operations over the past day. In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of the enemy forming offensive groups were detected.
Ukrainian defenders continue to systematically destroy the enemy and are putting up effective resistance across all sectors of the front.
In total, Russian invaders suffered 1,370 casualties over the past day. Additionally, three tanks, seven armored fighting vehicles, 92 artillery systems, two multiple launch rocket systems, two air defense systems, five ground-based robotic systems, 1,865 unmanned aerial vehicles, 453 enemy vehicles, and eight units of specialized equipment, according to the General Staff.
As a reminder, over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated another 1,370 Russian soldiers. Updated data on Russian military losses as of July 21 was released by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the Kherson region, 22 people were injured in Russian attacks over the past day.
Russia launched over a thousand strikes on the Zaporizhzhia region, resulting in one fatality and several injuries.
The Russians attacked an administrative building in Chernihiv; one person was wounded.
