Rosatom chief and IAEA head discuss ZNPP safety in Vienna
Alexey Likhachev, director general of the Russian state corporation Rosatom, and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi discussed the safety of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Vienna, Austria. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the IAEA General Conference, Anadolu Agency reports, citing Rosatom's press service.
Rosatom's statements on the situation
According to Rosatom, the situation at the plant and in nearby Enerhodar has deteriorated sharply since the end of April. The corporation said that there had been more than 750 attacks involving Ukrainian drones and artillery over the past four and a half months.
Rosatom also reported 20 deaths, including, according to its data, nine employees of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, as well as more than 100 people injured. The report provides no independent confirmation of these data.

Diesel fuel deliveries
According to Rosatom, Likhachev and Grossi separately discussed recent strikes on fuel trucks delivering supplies to the plant. Likhachev said the vehicles were carrying diesel fuel, which, according to him, was urgently needed to ensure the nuclear safety of the facility.
Rosatom claims that Grossi said the IAEA was ready to consider ways of facilitating such fuel deliveries. According to the corporation, he also confirmed his intention to continue dialogue with Russia regarding the safety of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
