Macron commented on Russia's strike on the National Academy of Sciences in Kyiv

French President Emmanuel Macron responded to the Russian attack on Kyiv. He condemned the strike on the building of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

 

“Vladimir Putin’s regime has struck Ukraine’s largest scientific institution—the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. These strikes are yet another example of the Russian regime’s hostile disregard for science and truth. They add to the barbarism of the daily strikes that target Ukrainian civilians,” the statement reads.

Macron expressed his condolences to the victims of the attack and their families.

“France and Europe will stand shoulder to shoulder with the Ukrainian people, who are courageously resisting, for as long as it takes,” the French leader emphasized.

Earlier in Kyiv, rescue workers finished extinguishing a fire at the National Academy of Sciences building.

Later, Mariana Bezuhla made a controversial statement regarding the strike on the Academy of Sciences.

Zelenskyy announced the number of casualties from the strike on the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences.
