Mobilised troops to sit an exam after training

Servicemen completing their training at military training centres will be required to take a comprehensive exam. The test will help identify gaps in their skills and provide additional training before they are deployed to the front line. This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

According to Syrskyi, an audit of basic combined-arms training has been ongoing since last autumn in training units and combat brigades and will continue. “The exam makes it possible to identify gaps in a mobilised soldier’s skills and provide further training before they carry out combat missions,” he explained.

The Commander-in-Chief also stressed the need to raise the professional level of instructors and improve their attitude towards their work. Particular attention is being paid to equipping training centres and ranges, organising a safe training environment, and supporting the adaptation of new recruits. “We are working to further improve the quality of training. I have heard reports from the heads of training centres on the implementation of recruit adaptation programmes at training grounds, the organisation of air cover for training locations, and the construction and equipping of shelters,” Syrskyi noted.

He added that this system will not only increase the combat readiness of servicemen but will also allow training programmes for all mobilised troops to be adjusted swiftly. The exam will serve as a quality control tool and a guarantee that every soldier is prepared to carry out missions on the front line.
