There were 291 engagements on the front lines over the past 24 hours; the hottest sector is Pokrovsk
Over the past 24 hours, 291 combat engagements were recorded on the front lines between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops, with the heaviest fighting continuing in the Pokrovsk direction. The enemy is making massive use of aircraft, drones, and artillery in an attempt to apply pressure across several sections of the front. This is stated in a Facebook post by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Over the past 24 hours, on May 29, the situation on the front remained extremely tense, as the Ukrainian Defense Forces recorded 291 combat engagements with Russian invaders, indicating high-intensity combat operations across several sectors with no signs of a decrease in enemy activity.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy launched one missile strike using seven missiles and carried out 91 airstrikes, during which it dropped 277 guided bombs, once again confirming the large-scale use of airpower in attempts to pressure Ukrainian positions.
It is also noted that Russian troops actively used drones—8,549 kamikaze drones were recorded over the past 24 hours, as well as 2,807 artillery strikes, including 53 strikes from multiple launch rocket systems, which placed constant pressure on the defense line. At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to deliver retaliatory strikes on enemy positions, targeting command posts, artillery systems, troop concentrations, and other key targets, which, according to the General Staff, significantly complicates the coordination of Russian forces’ actions on the front lines and in the rear.
The hottest sector remains Pokrovsk, where, according to military estimates, the most intense fighting is taking place, and the situation is changing very rapidly, requiring constant attention and rapid response from Ukrainian units.
In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk sectors, the Russian Federation’s army carried out three airstrikes using six guided bombs and conducted 64 shelling attacks on positions, six of which were with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy attacked eight times in the areas of Starytsia, Lyman, and Vovchansk, as well as toward Ternova and Izbytske.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled eight enemy attempts to advance toward Kivsharivka, Novoplatonivka, Novoosynove, and in the areas of Borivska Andriivka and Petropavlivka.
In the Lyman sector, Russian troops attempted 12 times to breach the defenses toward Lyman, Drobysheve, Shyikivka, Ozerny, and Hluschenkov.
In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy launched three assaults in the areas of Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kryva Luka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian invaders carried out three offensive operations in the areas of Nykyforivka, Pryvillia, and toward Tykhonivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the Russians carried out 12 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Ivanopil, Rusyn Yar, and toward Rozkishne.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the Defense Forces repelled 49 assaults by the Russian Federation’s army in the areas of Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and toward Vilne, Kuchero-Yar, Bilytske, Dorozhne, Toretske, Novyi Shakhovyi, and Shevchenko.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the invaders launched six attacks in the areas of Zelenyi Hai, Zlagoda, and Ternove, as well as toward Verbove.
In the Huliaipole sector, the Russians carried out 40 attacks in the areas of Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Olenokostiantynivka, and toward Novyi Zaporizhzhia, Huliaipole, Verkhnia Tersa, Vozdvyzhivka, Staroukrainka, Tsvitkove, and Charivne.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 10 attempts by Russian forces to advance in the areas of Shcherbakiv, Plavni, and Stepnogorsk.
In the Dnipro direction, the enemy did not conduct active offensive operations.
In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of Russian offensive groupings were detected.
Over the past 24 hours, the Russian army lost another 1,430 soldiers in the war against Ukraine. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed dozens of artillery systems, hundreds of vehicles, and nearly 1,800 drones.
