The fiercest fighting continues on the Pokrovsk direction – General Staff

As of 04:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 30 December 2025, the Ukrainian Armed Forces recorded 63 combat engagements along the entire line of contact. The most difficult situation remains on the Pokrovsk direction, where Russian occupation forces carried out 20 attacks in the areas of Pokrovsk, Udachne, Rodynske, and Rivne.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that in five locations along this section of the front, fighting is still ongoing, as the aggressor is attempting to advance towards Hryshyne and Novopavlivka.

A high intensity of combat is also observed on the Huliaipole and Kostiantynivka directions, where 11 and 13 attackswere recorded, respectively. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled most of the assaults in the Shcherbynivka and Pleshchiyivka areas, though some clashes remain active.

On the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy attempted to storm Ukrainian positions near the Antonivskyi Bridge twice but was defeated and forced to retreat. Defensive battles are ongoing on the Lyman, Sloviansk, and South Slobozhanshchyna directions, where Ukrainian troops are holding back enemy attempts to break through.

Border areas of Chernihiv and Sumy regions were subjected to massive artillery strikes by Russia, affecting more than ten settlements, including Kostobobriv and Volfyne. On the Kursk and North Slobozhanshchyna directions, the occupiers dropped five guided bombs and also carried out airstrikes on Orikhiv and Zaporizhzhia. These actions indicate the continuation of a tactic of aerial terror in areas where Russian ground forces cannot achieve success due to the resilience of Ukrainian defence.

Russian military losses in the full-scale war against Ukraine continue to rise sharply. Updated data indicate a significant depletion of the Russian army both in terms of manpower and all major types of weapons and equipment.

On 29 December, 151 combat engagements were recorded along the front line, with the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole directions experiencing the highest intensity of fighting.
