Situation remains tense in the Pokrovsk and Ocheretyne directions — Syrskyi

Combat operations remain particularly intense in the Pokrovsk and Ocheretyne directions, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi has reported.

According to him, the enemy has concentrated its main forces in these sectors of the front in an attempt to break through Ukrainian defences.

Over the past week alone, around 400 combat engagements have been recorded in these areas, indicating increased enemy activity.

Syrskyi noted that Russian forces continue their assault attempts and are constantly deploying additional reserves. The primary task of Ukraine’s Defence Forces is to inflict maximum losses on the enemy, destroy reinforcements and gradually reduce its offensive potential.

“The enemy is increasing pressure, but our task is to deprive it of the ability to act effectively,” he stressed.

The Commander-in-Chief added that during frontline visits, he and unit commanders conduct detailed assessments of the situation directly on the battlefield.

Enemy troops are actively using small infantry group tactics, attempting to advance in short bursts. Effective countermeasures require constant situational awareness, coordinated actions between units and rapid tactical decision-making.

“Flexibility and coordination are the key factors of our success,” Syrskyi emphasised.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian forces eliminated more than a thousand occupiers in one day.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have also pushed back Russia’s operational reserves in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad.
