Russian troops attacked a vehicle carrying volunteers who were evacuating civilians in the Zaporizhzhia region with a drone. Two people were injured in the strike, and the vehicle was damaged.
According to the regional governor, a Russian drone struck a vehicle that was evacuating residents of Novotroitske.
“The Russians used a drone to strike a volunteer vehicle that was carrying out an evacuation from Novotroitske. Two people were injured. The vehicle sustained damage,” Fedorov wrote.
Other Ukrainian media outlets have also confirmed the attack, noting that it occurred on September 1 while volunteers were carrying out evacuation efforts.
Evacuation volunteer Vlad Makhovsky reported that the vehicle was attacked by an FPV drone.
According to him, the woman who was being evacuated was successfully taken away, but she was left without her belongings.
The volunteers also noted that the drone carried a powerful payload, which caused damage to the vehicle.
The attack occurred during the evacuation of civilians from a dangerous area, once again highlighting the risks volunteers face when working near the combat zone.
