Woman killed in Zaporizhzhia following drone attack
On Sunday morning, Russian forces once again struck Zaporizhzhia region.
Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported the incident on his Telegram channel.
This time, the city of Vilniansk came under enemy fire, where the aggressor’s drones targeted the residential sector. Several private houses were damaged or partially destroyed.
According to official information, one woman was killed on the spot, and another person was injured.
Fedorov noted that emergency services are currently working at the site of the tragedy — clearing debris, inspecting damaged homes, and assisting those affected.
The injured individual is receiving all necessary medical care, while local authorities are organising support for the family of the deceased.
According to Fedorov, the consequences of the attack could have been even more tragic, as the explosions occurred during the night when most people were asleep. Windows were blown out in several houses, roofs and household appliances were damaged.
Energy companies also reported power outages, though repair crews are already working to restore the network.
Russian “Shahed” drones also struck several regions of Ukraine during the night of 10–11 January.
