Night drone attack on Odesa region: children among the victims

On the night of 25 November, Russian troops launched a massive drone attack on the Odesa region.

The head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kipper, reported that the strikes caused extensive damage to civilian infrastructure and triggered fires at several facilities. Six people were injured, including two children.

Rescue services remain on site, extinguishing fires and dealing with the aftermath of the attack. This was not the first Russian strike on the region, with previous attacks recorded on 23 and 24 November, further complicating the area’s energy supply. The head of Ukrenergo noted that the Odesa region is facing one of the most difficult electricity supply situations in the country.

The situation underscores the constant threats faced by civilians in Ukraine and highlights the need for international support in countering aggression. Assessment of the full damage and the restoration of facilities will depend on timely assistance on the ground.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga described Russia’s night-time attacks with drones and various missiles on Kyiv and other regions as a “terrorist response” to peace proposals from the United States and former President Donald Trump.
