Night attack on Okhtyrka: fire in a nine-story building and seven injured
On the night of December 8, Russian occupiers carried out drone strikes on a nine-story residential building in the city of Okhtyrka, Sumy region.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), the strike of a UAV caused a large fire in the building, which engulfed apartments from the second to the fifth floor.
The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, clarified that the enemy attacked the Okhtyrka community with three strike drones.
During the firefighting operation, rescuers evacuated 35 residents of the high-rise building. Seven people, including one child, had to be extracted from damaged premises.
The work was repeatedly suspended due to the threat of additional enemy attacks, but rescuers managed to eliminate all fire outbreaks. Fortunately, no people were found under the rubble, and dismantling of damaged structures is currently underway.
As a result of the night attack, seven residents were injured.
As a reminder, the occupiers attacked energy infrastructure in the Lviv region, causing injuries.
Russian attacks also wounded three people in Orikhiv and Bilenke.
