Peskov threatened Kyiv with new strikes over Ozon
On August 24, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov threatened Ukraine with new strikes in response to attacks on Ozon’s logistics facilities in Russia. He claimed that Kyiv had allegedly “opened Pandora’s box,” and that Ukrainians would feel the effects of Russian strikes on the capital “every day and every night.”
“In this context, I want to bring you back to Putin’s interview on Saturday. It was clearly stated there that Ukraine is trying to strike at commercial trade infrastructure, pursuing a wide variety of goals in the process. The Kyiv regime is failing at this,” Peskov lied.
According to the Kremlin spokesperson, Kyiv is attempting to influence the course of events on the battlefield in this way.
“As for the strikes, they once again underscore the true nature of the Kyiv regime. And here, of course, it is important to recall Putin’s words: ‘You yourselves opened Pandora’s box; now face the consequences.’ They are feeling the response in Kyiv every day, every night, and will continue to feel it,” Peskov threatened.
Against this backdrop, he also commented on the measures taken by the authorities to support Russian businesses and the population.
According to Putin’s spokesperson, these measures are currently only being developed, and no final decisions have been made yet.
“The government, together with business representatives, is considering and developing various options for providing support in this difficult situation,” Peskov added, effectively contradicting his own statement that Ukraine “is getting nowhere” with its attacks on Russia.
As a reminder, following the drone strikes, Ozon’s stock price fell by nearly 30%.
On the night of August 24, drones attacked several large logistics facilities belonging to the Ozon marketplace in southern Russia. The strikes caused fires, and there are reports of casualties.
The drones attacked Ozon’s logistics centers in two regions of the Russian Federation simultaneously.
Drones also attacked Krasnodar, causing a fire at a warehouse.
