The Pokrovsk sector has once again become the hottest spot on the front lines

Since the start of the day on September 7, there have been 205 combat engagements along the front lines. Russian troops carried out the most attacks in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian forces repelled 39 assaults. According to the General Staff, 54 invaders and hundreds of enemy drones were destroyed in this sector of the front over the course of the day.

 

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian troops carried out one missile strike and 52 airstrikes over the past 24 hours. The occupiers used 186 guided aerial bombs in their attacks. In addition, Russian troops launched 5,876 kamikaze drones.

The enemy also shelled Ukrainian military positions and populated areas 1,873 times. In other words, the Russian army continued to apply pressure across several sections of the front, combining ground assaults with airstrikes, artillery fire, and drone attacks.

In the north, the enemy launched one attack

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian forces carried out one assault operation. The enemy also carried out one airstrike, using one guided bomb. In addition, the enemy fired on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas 60 times.

Assaults continued in the Kharkiv region

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian troops attempted to attack Ukrainian positions seven times.

The assaults took place in the direction of Lyman, Starytsia, Vovchansk, Chaikivka, Mala Vovcha, and Ustynivka. At the time this report was compiled, two attacks were still ongoing.

The Russians carried out four more attempts to advance in the Kupiansk direction. The enemy tried to advance toward Kupiansk, Kurylivka, and Novoosynove.

In the east, the heaviest fighting is taking place near Pokrovsk

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces repelled eight Russian attempts to advance. Fighting took place near Shyikivka, Druzhlyubivka, Novoselivka, Lyman, and Dibrova. Four attacks in this sector were still ongoing at the time of this report.

In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian forces halted six enemy attempts to advance. Russian troops attacked in the areas of Yampil, Kryva Luka, Kalenika, Mykolaivka, and Rai-Oleksandrivka. One battle was still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the Russians did not launch any assaults.

Near Kostiantynivka, 15 attacks were repelled

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 15 Russian assaults.

The enemy attempted to attack near Kostiantynivka and to advance toward Novoselivka, Mykolaipillia, Sofiivka, and Kucherivyi Yar. One attack was still ongoing. The situation in this sector remains tense. Russian troops continue to look for opportunities to advance, while Ukrainian units are holding back their assault groups.

The Pokrovsk direction has become the hottest sector

The highest number of combat engagements was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction. There, Russian troops carried out 39 attacks. The occupiers attempted to advance toward Dorozhne, Bilytske, Novyi Donbas, Vodyanske, Shevchenko, Nadiya, Myrne, Serhiivka, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Novopidhorodne, and Novopavlivka.

Four assaults were still ongoing at the time this report was prepared. According to preliminary data from the General Staff, Ukrainian forces killed 54 Russian soldiers in this sector during the day. Another 16 occupiers were wounded.

Ukrainian forces also destroyed four vehicles, one specialized piece of equipment, a drone control center, and 37 Russian military shelters. Three more artillery pieces, six vehicles, four UAV control centers, and 115 shelters were damaged. Separately, the General Staff reported the destruction or neutralization of 291 Russian drones of various types.

Fighting also continued in the south

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian forces attacked toward Rybne and Shevchenko.

In the Huliaipole sector, Ukrainian forces repelled four attacks. Russian forces attempted to advance near Dobropillia, Rizdvyanka, and Charivne.

In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy did not conduct any offensive operations.

Russian troops did not attack in the Prydniprovsk direction either. According to the General Staff, there were no significant changes in other sectors of the front.

What’s Happening on the Front

Overall, the situation remains tense. Russian troops continue to launch assaults on several fronts simultaneously, but the heaviest pressure today was concentrated on the Pokrovsk sector.

Ukrainian forces are repelling the attacks and inflicting losses on the enemy in terms of personnel and equipment. At the same time, the Russians are actively using aircraft and drones in an attempt to support their assault operations. Over the past 24 hours, the enemy carried out thousands of attacks using drones and nearly 2,000 shelling raids on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas. This is stated in the report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding the situation on the front lines.

As a reminder, fires broke out at industrial facilities in the Kyiv region due to an attack by the Russian Federation.

Russia also launched a massive attack on Kyiv, killing and wounding civilians.

Later, rescue workers showed the aftermath of the strikes on Kyiv.
