A Captured Tajik Citizen Addresses Migrants in Russia – Video

A citizen of a Central Asian country took advantage of the Ukrainian government’s “I Want to Live” program for the first time to voluntarily surrender. A migrant worker from Tajikistan, who had been working in Russia for a long time, ended up on the front lines after being detained by Russian security forces and threatened with deportation.

To avoid being expelled from the country, the man signed a contract with the Russian army; however, after two weeks of surviving on the front lines without food or water, he decided to surrender along with a fellow soldier

The successful evacuation of both Russian servicemen was carried out as part of a joint operation by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and the Third Army Corps. The safe exit of the trapped soldiers was ensured by drone operators from the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade, who escorted them along a designated route and dropped water, food, and communication equipment to them.

Currently, the former foreign mercenary has official prisoner-of-war status and is fully protected under the Geneva Conventions. After his evacuation, the Tajik prisoner of war publicly appealed to other foreign migrants in Russia, urging them under no circumstances to sign contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defense, calling participation in this senseless war a one-way ticket.

This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

A court in the city of Termez, Uzbekistan, sentenced a 30-year-old Uzbek citizen for participating in Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. The man, who deserted the Russian army and returned to his homeland, was found guilty of mercenary activity

Additionally, a court in the Tashkent region sentenced a 38-year-old Uzbek citizen who fought as part of the so-called “DNR army” to five years in prison.

In Serbia, a court found 31-year-old Vlado Stanic guilty of mercenary activity. He participated in the war in Ukraine on the side of Russia.
