Air defense forces shot down 203 drones during a massive nighttime attack on Ukraine
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have neutralized 203 of the 236 enemy drones of various types that the invaders have used to attack the country since the evening of April 18. To repel the air attack, they deployed aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare units.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram.
The enemy launched Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas strike UAVs from eight different directions located on Russian territory and in occupied Crimea. As of 8:00 a.m. on April 19, the destruction of most targets in the north, south, and east of the country has been confirmed. Despite the efforts of the air defense forces, 32 drones were recorded striking 18 different locations.
In addition to direct strikes, debris from downed drones was recorded at eight locations, causing damage on the ground. The air raid alert remains in effect, as some enemy drones were still in Ukrainian airspace as of Sunday morning. The highest intensity of launches involved “suicide drones,” of which the enemy deployed about 150 units.
