Air defense forces destroyed nearly 200 Russian drones during a nighttime attack on Ukraine
On the night of July 31, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 195 of the 255 drones that the Russian army launched into Ukrainian territory. At the same time, enemy drones were confirmed to have struck 14 locations. The consequences of the attack and the extent of the damage are being assessed.
On the night of July 31 (starting at 6:00 p.m. on July 30), the enemy launched an attack using 255 Shahed-type strike UAVs (including rocket-powered ones), “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” and “Parody”-type decoy drones from the following directions: Orel and Kursk in the Russian Federation; the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk; and Gvardeyskoye in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 195 enemy UAVs—including Shahed, “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” and other types—in the north, south, and east of the country.
The Ukrainian Air Force Command reports that 22 attack UAVs were recorded striking 14 locations, and debris was found at four locations.
As a reminder, the Kerch Bridge in Crimea was closed twice due to explosions.
Also, following a drone attack, the Volgograd airport suspended operations, and fires broke out.

The occupiers attacked Kostiantynivka with incendiary munitions and caused a rain of phosphorus.
