Putin is once again "targeting" residential buildings, says Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that, as a result of Russia’s large-scale missile and drone attack, at least 83 people are known to have been injured and two killed as of now.

The head of state announced this on Telegram.

According to the president, rescue workers, medical personnel, and emergency services have been working at the impact sites since last night. All those affected are receiving the necessary assistance.

“Everyone who was injured in this strike will receive assistance. This is our duty, and the state will fulfill it. I am grateful to each and every person working at the sites after the strikes to help our people,” Zelenskyy said.

The president also expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and the injured.

“My condolences to their families and loved ones,” the head of state said.

According to Zelenskyy, during the attack on May 24, Russia used 90 missiles of various types, including 36 ballistic missiles, as well as about 600 attack drones. Not all of the ballistic missiles were intercepted by air defense forces.

The highest number of strikes was recorded in Kyiv, which, according to the president, became the main target of the Russian attack.

“Putin can’t even pronounce the word ‘hurray’ properly anymore—he mumbles—yet he still destroys residential buildings with his missiles. Three Russian missiles struck a water supply facility, burned down a market, damaged dozens of residential buildings, and several regular schools. He launched his ‘Oreshnik’ against Bila Tserkva. He’s truly out of his mind,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

The president stressed that Russia’s attacks must not go unpunished, and international support for Ukraine must be strengthened.

“Today, everyone in the world who does not remain silent, who helps Ukraine, is a defender of life,” the head of state declared.

Zelenskyy also appealed to Ukraine’s allies to adopt new measures to put pressure on Russia.

“It is important that Ukraine not be left alone. We need decisions from the United States, from Europe, and from others so that this old nutcase in Moscow utters the word ‘peace,’” the president concluded.
