Russia attacked port infrastructure in the Odesa region

On the night of April 18, Russian forces launched a targeted strike on port infrastructure and logistics facilities in the Odesa region. The attack resulted in one casualty and significant damage.

This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba on Telegram.

According to him, a truck driver was injured during the shelling. The man sustained injuries but received medical attention on the spot.

The attack damaged warehouses, freight vehicles, and buildings. Fires also broke out, including on buses.

Separately, a strike was recorded on the territory of the port operator—corn silos were damaged there, causing a fire. Rescue units have been deployed to address the aftermath.

Kuleba emphasized: “Russia is systematically attacking ports, export infrastructure, and civilian logistics in an attempt to disrupt the Ukrainian maritime corridor and impact the economy and global food security.”

In the Chernihiv region, on the morning of April 18, approximately 380,000 consumers were left without power as a result of a Russian attack.

The day before, Russian troops carried out a massive drone attack on the energy infrastructure of the Zhytomyr region, concentrating the strike of approximately 20 drones on a single substation. The energy company stated that critical infrastructure facilities remain one of the enemy’s main targets and confirmed the attack.

Russian occupiers attacked a car with an FPV drone in the Myrivska community of the Nikopol district in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
