Russia attacked Ukraine with 137 drones from eight directions
On the night of October 5–6, Russian forces launched 137 attack drones at Ukraine, including 49 jet-powered ones. Ukrainian defense forces shot down most of the drones, but some hits were also recorded.
The attack began at 6:00 p.m. on October 5. The Russians launched Shahed-type drones, including 49 jet-powered ones, as well as Gerber, “Banderole”/“Dan-T,” and “Parody” decoy drones.
The drones were launched from Orel, Kursk, Shatalovo, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia; from occupied Donetsk; from Gvardeyskoye in occupied Crimea; and from the Sea of Azov.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m., air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 114 Shahed, Gerber, and other types of drones.
Enemy strikes were recorded at 17 locations. Debris from downed drones fell at four additional locations.

The attack is ongoing, and several enemy drones remain in the airspace, according to the Air Force.
As a reminder, Russia struck a residential building in Zaporizhzhia; there are casualties.
Earlier, an explosion occurred in Odesa during a Russian attack.
