Russia attacked Ukraine with 151 drones and a missile; air defense forces shot down more than 130 targets

On the night of July 1, Russian forces carried out a large-scale air attack on Ukraine, using a ballistic missile, an X-59 air-to-ground guided missile, and 151 drones of various types.

Air defense forces shot down 130 enemy drones and the X-59 missile.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the attack began at 6:00 p.m. on June 30. The enemy launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile from the temporarily occupied Crimea, an X-59 air-to-ground guided missile from the Black Sea, as well as 151 Shahed-type strike drones, “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” and “Parody” decoy drones.

The launches were carried out from the territories of the Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, and Rostov regions of the Russian Federation, the Krasnodar Krai, as well as the temporarily occupied parts of the Donetsk region and Crimea.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces deployed aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups to repel the air attack.

As of 7:30 a.m. on July 1, Ukrainian air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 130 enemy drones and also intercepted an X-59 guided air-to-ground missile.

At the same time, 17 attack drones were recorded striking 16 locations, and debris from downed targets was found in four locations.

Information regarding the impact site of the ballistic missile is being verified. At the time of publication, there were no reports of damage or casualties resulting from its use.

The Air Force notes that the attack is ongoing, as several enemy drones remain in Ukrainian airspace.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram.

On the night of July 1, Russian troops carried out a massive attack with strike drones on the Dnipropetrovsk region.

As a reminder, on the evening of June 30, Russian troops attacked an electric locomotive in the Dnipropetrovsk region with a drone. There were no casualties, as the locomotive crew was warned of the danger in time, and the workers managed to take cover.

Ukrainian drones struck eight of the ten largest Russian oil refineries by processing volume, with some facilities being hit multiple times.
