Russia attacked Ukraine with 169 drones and ballistic missiles; air defense systems neutralized 139 targets
On the night of July 8, Russian forces carried out yet another massive airstrike against Ukraine, deploying 169 attack drones and decoy drones, as well as five ballistic missiles and two anti-radar missiles.
Air defense forces shot down 139 enemy drones, but strikes on a number of targets were also recorded.
According to military reports, starting at 6:00 p.m. on July 7, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with two Kh-31P anti-radar missiles launched from the Black Sea, five “Iskander-M”/S-400 ballistic missiles from the temporarily occupied Crimea and the Bryansk region, as well as 169 attack drones, including Shaheds—particularly jet-powered variants— "Gerbera," "Italmas," and "Parody" decoy drones.
The launches were carried out from the Bryansk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo, and temporarily occupied Donetsk regions, as well as from Gvardeyskoye and Chauda in Crimea.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces deployed aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups to repel the air attack.
As of 8:00 a.m. on July 8, Ukrainian air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 139 enemy drones in the north, east, and south of the country.
At the same time, five Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles struck four locations, and 20 attack UAVs hit targets at 11 locations. In addition, debris from downed drones fell in seven other locations.
The Air Force also noted that two Kh-31P anti-radar missiles failed to reach their targets.
As of this morning, the attack is ongoing—several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace, and air defense forces continue to engage them.

Since the evening, Russian troops have carried out more than two dozen strikes on the Dnipropetrovsk region, using drones and artillery. Five districts in the region came under enemy fire, and four civilians were wounded as a result of the shelling.
As a reminder, Russian forces struck Odesa—there are casualties, and infrastructure has been damaged.
The strike on Odesa was carried out with a missile equipped with a cluster warhead.
