Russia attacked a grain silo in the Sumy region; one person was injured
As a result of the Russian attack on the Sumy region, a grain elevator belonging to the “Ukrlandfarming” group of companies sustained significant damage. Due to the extent of the destruction, operations at the facility were completely halted, and the grain stocks stored there were destroyed.
According to the company, the grain elevator’s infrastructure sustained substantial damage, forcing the facility to cease operations.
One employee was injured during the Russian shelling.
The man received first aid and was hospitalized. He is currently under medical supervision.
“Despite the constant threat and regular shelling, the Ukrlandfarming Group of Companies continues its production activities, ensuring Ukraine’s food security, preserving jobs, and supporting the stability of the country’s economy,” the statement reads.
Ukrlandfarming noted that this is not the first attack by Russian forces on the company’s infrastructure.
In particular, the “Chornobaivska” poultry farm in the Kherson region was cut off from power and blockaded back in 2022, resulting in the death of more than 4 million birds. Last month, the Russian army again attacked the company’s already restored complex, striking it with guided aerial bombs.
In addition, Russian troops destroyed or significantly damaged a number of the company’s grain elevators and poultry farms in the Mykolaiv, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions.
The occupiers are also systematically attacking agricultural equipment, as well as warehouses storing fuel, seeds, and plant protection products, causing significant damage to Ukraine’s agricultural sector.

During the day, Russian troops attacked a post office in Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast, with a drone.
In addition, Russian attack drones are targeting Kryvyi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. An emergency rescue operation has already begun in the city.
In the Kherson region, four people were injured on August 16 as a result of Russian attacks. Residential buildings, a hospital wing, and other civilian infrastructure facilities were also damaged.
In addition, Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia with guided aerial bombs. According to preliminary reports, no one was injured in the attack.
On the afternoon of August 16, a Russian jet-powered drone attacked a post office located in a shopping center in a suburb of Odesa. Two people were injured in the strike.
Later, Russian forces again attacked civilian infrastructure in the Odesa region. An enemy jet-powered drone struck a residential area, completely destroying two private homes and injuring three civilians.
