Russia launched a massive ballistic missile attack on Kyiv, which resulted in fires
On the night of July 8, Russian forces launched another ballistic missile strike on Kyiv. More than ten explosions were heard in the capital, followed by large-scale fires in several districts, and emergency services began responding to the attack.
According to Klitschko, facilities in the Desnianskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts have been damaged as a result of the Russian strike.
“In the Desnianskyi district, warehouses are on fire after being hit by a missile,” the mayor said.
Meanwhile, in the Svyatoshynsky district, a fire broke out in a non-residential building.

According to preliminary information, more than ten powerful explosions were heard in the capital during the attack. Severe fires broke out at the impact sites, and emergency services have been deployed to address the aftermath.
The attack began shortly after midnight. At 12:07 a.m., the Ukrainian Air Force reported a threat of ballistic missile strikes from the south. Later, the military detected a new threat coming from the north.

At 00:43, an urgent alert sounded: “Ballistic missile from the north!”
Within minutes, the air defense forces warned of an imminent threat to the capital. Literally a few minutes later, the Air Force reported another missile heading toward the capital.

The attack was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
Earlier, Russian forces had struck Odesa. The attack damaged infrastructure, and two people are known to have been injured.
The strike on Odesa was carried out with a missile equipped with a cluster warhead.
