Russia loses another 1,040 troops and 64 artillery systems at the front

The total combat losses of Russian forces since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as of April 9, 2026, amount to approximately 1,307,540 personnel. Over the past day, another 1,040 troops were killed.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.

According to updated data, enemy equipment losses are as follows:

  • tanks — 11,847 (+1 over the past day)
  • armored combat vehicles — 24,370 (+2)
  • artillery systems — 39,689 (+64)
  • multiple launch rocket systems — 1,724 (+1)
  • air defense systems — 1,341 (+0)
  • aircraft — 435 (+0)
  • helicopters — 350 (+0)
  • operational-tactical UAVs — 227,539 (+2,238)
  • cruise missiles — 4,517 (+0)
  • ships and boats — 33 (+0)
  • submarines — 2 (+0)
  • vehicles and fuel tankers — 88,332 (+229)
  • special equipment — 4,119 (+2)

Ukrainian forces continue to inflict significant losses on the enemy in both manpower and equipment.

Over the past three months, Ukrainian troops have managed to disrupt Russian plans for a spring–summer campaign in the Oleksandrivsk direction and seize the initiative.

Earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported eliminating another 980 Russian troops and two air defense systems in a single day.

Ukrainian airborne assault forces are expanding a logistical corridor toward Myrnohrad.

Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to repel Russian offensive attempts in the areas of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad.

Pokrovsk has become a critically important direction for Ukraine’s defense.

Units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces in the area of responsibility of the “East” operational group repelled 106 Russian attacks over the past day.

Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi reported on the current situation near Pokrovsk.
