Russia launched an AI-generated hoax on TikTok about captured soldiers
Russian propaganda has released yet another AI-generated video on TikTok, purportedly featuring soldiers from the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ 46th Separate Airborne Brigade. The video shows “three soldiers,” and a voiceover claims that “this is all that’s left of the unit” after it was redeployed to a new section of the front, which is why they allegedly decided to go AWOL.
Specialized content verification services have confirmed that the video is a fake. It was published via an account that is part of a coordinated network and systematically spreads hostile disinformation.
By creating such fakes, the enemy is attempting to undermine the command’s authority, create the illusion of chaos within the army, and break the morale of society. This is not the first time the 46th Brigade has been the target of an information attack—a similar AI-generated video was previously recorded, containing complaints about a “catastrophic situation” in the Sloviansk sector.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces debunked a Russian fake news story about the Vovchansk encirclement.
