Russia carried out one of the most massive attacks on Naftogaz facilities in eastern Ukraine
On the night of August 7, Russian troops launched one of the most massive attacks on facilities belonging to the Naftogaz Group in eastern Ukraine. Seven Ukrnafta assets involved in oil and gas production were targeted in the attack.
The company reported that significant production volumes were lost due to the destruction of critical equipment, and operations at a number of facilities have been halted.
“Russia is systematically attacking Ukrainian oil and gas production to inflict maximum damage on our infrastructure ahead of winter. Last night saw the most intense shelling of Ukrnafta facilities in recent times,” said Serhiy Fedorenko, acting chairman of the board of Naftogaz.
Over the past 24 hours, four UKRNAFTA gas stations in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions were also shelled. According to the company, there were no casualties among employees or visitors.
