Russia strikes port “Pivdennyi” again

A nighttime attack by Russian drones hit the port of Pivdennyi in Odesa region, marking another blow to Ukrainian logistics.

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (AMPU) confirmed damage to production hangars, railway tracks, and a locomotive. The resulting fire was quickly extinguished, with no casualties among staff, and the port continues operations normally.

This incident underscores the systematic nature of Russian attacks on maritime infrastructure. In recent weeks, Pivdennyi has repeatedly been targeted — drones and Iskander missiles regularly hit logistics hubs.

These strikes aim to paralyze grain exports and other cargo flows, which are critical for Ukraine’s economy. Despite the threats, Ukrainian teams respond promptly, restoring port operations quickly.

AMPU deployed firefighters and rescuers to extinguish the fire and assess the damage. The affected objects include warehouses and transport routes, but the port waters remain safe for navigation. Employees were evacuated in time, avoiding casualties, highlighting the resilience of personnel under constant attacks.

Russia has also attacked five districts of Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, and Kryvyi Rih.
