During the night of 28 January, Russia once again attacked Ukrainian cities with strike drones and missile weapons.

The most severe consequences were recorded in Kyiv region, where two people were killed and several others were injured.

In Zaporizhzhia, the strike hit a residential area: buildings, cars and dozens of apartments were damaged, and people were wounded.

Hits were also reported in Odesa, as well as the consequences of a strike on infrastructure in Kryvyi Rih.

In Kyiv, during an air raid alert, damage was recorded in the Holosiivskyi district. A hit struck the end façade of a 17-storey residential building, damaging the roof and the wall of the technical floor, while windows on the upper levels were blown out.
Parked cars in the courtyard were damaged, and residents reported falling debris.

Separately, UAV debris caused a fire on the roof of a two-storey non-residential building. The fire was promptly extinguished; preliminary reports indicate no injuries.

The most tragic situation occurred in Bucha district of Kyiv region, particularly in the Bilogorodka community. After a Geran-2 drone strike, a large fire broke out in an apartment on the seventh floor of a seven-storey building.
During firefighting operations, rescuers found the bodies of two victims. Four other people received assistance: a woman, two children born in 2016 and 2021 with acute stress reactions, and a man who suffered smoke inhalation.

Zaporizhzhia suffered two strikes overnight, including a hit in the courtyard of a multi-storey building. The attack caused a fire, while the blast wave and debris damaged nearby homes.
According to updated data, more than 100 apartments, around 20 cars, and at least 12 residential buildings sustained damage of varying severity.
Some areas were temporarily left without electricity; municipal services are boarding up broken windows and clearing debris.

As of the morning, four people were reported injured in Zaporizhzhia: a 38-year-old man and women aged 88, 65 and 55. Medical assistance was provided; their conditions are being уточнюються.

In Kryvyi Rih, a ballistic missile strike hit an infrastructure facility.
Two people were injured — a 51-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man. Doctors continue to provide care.

The Odesa region was also attacked by drones. In Odesa, according to preliminary information, a UAV struck the territory of an Orthodox monastery, causing a fire. A private residential house was also damaged.

Earlier, Russia attacked grain storage hangars in Chernihiv region and infrastructure facilities in Lviv region.
