Russia attacked the Kharkiv region with six drones and killed two women
On the night of August 20–21, Russian troops attacked the village of Lebyazhe in the Chuhuiv District with six strike drones. The attack killed two women and wounded two others; private homes were also damaged and destroyed.
According to the head of the Regional Military Administration, the enemy launched a massive drone strike on the village. A 73-year-old and a 66-year-old woman were killed in the attack. Two other residents of Lebyazhe—a 41-year-old and a 73-year-old woman—were injured; medical personnel have already provided them with the necessary care.
Fires broke out in the village as a result of the strike. According to available data, the following consequences have been reported:
- fires were reported in five private residential buildings;
- three houses were destroyed, and another 20 were damaged;
- three outbuildings were also damaged.
All emergency services are currently on the scene and operating in high-alert mode. The extent of the damage and the circumstances of the attack are being investigated.
During emergency rescue operations and the clearing of debris at the sites where UAVs struck in Lebyazhe, rescuers recovered the bodies of two victims. This was reported by Oleg Synyegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.
According to him, State Emergency Service units are continuing to address the aftermath of the strike, and emergency medical teams are on standby at the scene. Law enforcement officials are documenting yet another war crime committed by the occupiers. Authorities are currently checking to see if any other village residents require assistance.
