Russia attacks Kyiv for sixth consecutive day: fatalities reported — DW
Russia, an aggressor state, attacked Kyiv and the Kyiv region for the sixth consecutive day. Seven people were killed in a ballistic strike on a railway depot in Kyiv, Ukrzaliznytsia CEO Oleksandr Pertsovskyi reported.

According to Pertsovskyi, six Ukrzaliznytsia employees were among the dead. Another employee is in hospital with injuries. The company’s head also reported significant destruction at the site.
Emergency services, in turn, reported eight people killed and five injured in Kyiv; three children were among the casualties. Fires broke out in several districts of the capital during the nighttime attack.

In Boryspil, Kyiv region, one person was killed after missiles and drones struck a residential building and an enterprise. Another nine people, including a child, were injured. As Deutsche Welle reports, Russia’s Defense Ministry, representing the aggressor state, said the targets of the attacks were military and energy facilities in Kyiv, Odesa and nearby areas.
Incident in Estonia
On the night of September 1, drones approached Estonia’s border with Russia and briefly entered the country’s airspace. Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said NATO aircraft were scrambled from Ämari Air Base in response. According to him, the Alliance responded quickly to the incident and is ready to defend allied territory. It was not immediately established who launched the drones.
Also on September 1, defense ministers of European countries will meet in Ireland. Ukraine’s new acting defense minister, Yevhenii Khmara, is expected to brief them on the latest wave of Russian attacks. According to DW, Ukraine’s air defense and military support are expected to be among the topics of the meeting.
