Russia attacks Mykolaiv with Shahed drones, private houses damaged

On the morning of 18 February, Russian forces attacked Mykolaiv with kamikaze drones. The strike caused damage to residential buildings in the city’s private housing sector.

This was reported by the Mayor of Mykolaiv, Vitalii Kim, on Telegram.

“Mykolaiv. As a result of the ‘Shahed’ attack, there is damage to houses in the private sector. As of now, there are no casualties,” the mayor wrote.

It is worth noting that the previous evening Kim had warned about groups of drones moving towards Mykolaiv. The Ukrainian Air Force reported UAVs entering Mykolaiv region from the south at 00:12, as well as drones heading for the regional centre at 01:17.

In addition, according to the military, Russian forces launched guided aerial bombs (KABs) overnight. Launches were recorded in Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions, as well as in other areas.

On the evening of 17 February, Russian forces also carried out a drone strike on Zaporizhzhia, damaging residential buildings. According to preliminary information, one person was killed, and civilian infrastructure was damaged.

Earlier that same evening, on 17 February 2026, Russian forces began another wave of attacks across Ukraine, using strike drones and ballistic weapons.
