Russia attacks Odesa region with drones, damaging critical infrastructure facility
Russian forces carried out a drone attack on the Odesa region during the night of 18 March, damaging a critical infrastructure facility.
This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, on Telegram.
“During the night, Russian terrorists attacked the Odesa region with strike drones. As a result of the enemy strike, a critical infrastructure facility and part of its equipment were damaged,” he said.
According to Kiper, there were no casualties.
A fire that broke out following the strike was promptly extinguished by emergency services. Work is currently under way to deal with the aftermath of the attack and to restore the damaged equipment.
The situation in the region remains under control.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces also carried out a massive attack on the Zaporizhzhia region, launching hundreds of strikes on settlements across the area. Civilian casualties were reported.
On the evening of 17 March, Russian occupying forces struck civilian infrastructure in the settlement of Slatyne using a drone.
On Tuesday, 17 March, Russian troops attacked the city of Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region with an FPV drone. The strike hit a residential building directly, damaging its facade.
Over the past day, 16 March 2026, border communities in the Chernihiv region were also subjected to attacks by Russian forces.
