Russia attacked Ukraine with 143 drones and two ballistic missiles

On the night of April 21, Russia launched a massive air strike against Ukraine, deploying 143 attack drones and two ballistic missiles. 

This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.

According to military sources, drones of various types were launched from several directions:

  • Kursk, Bryansk, Orel, Millerovo — Russian Federation territory
  • Primorsko-Akhtarsk — Russian Federation
  • Gvardeyskoye — temporarily occupied Crimea
  • individual launches — from occupied areas of Donetsk Oblast

Two Iskander-M ballistic missiles were launched from the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare forces, and mobile fire groups were involved in repelling the strike.

As of this morning, 116 enemy drones have been destroyed or neutralized, and one ballistic missile has been shot down. The fate of the second missile is being clarified

Despite the air defense efforts, 22 drones reached their targets; hits were recorded at 17 sites, and debris from downed drones fell at 7 additional locations

The Air Force reported that enemy drones were still in the skies over Ukraine and urged citizens not to ignore air raid sirens.

On the night of April 21, Russian forces launched a drone strike on the city of Sumy. The attack damaged residential neighborhoods and a medical facility, injuring 15 people, including children.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops carried out 725 strikes on 39 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. Two people were killed and ten others were injured as a result of attacks on Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia district.

On the evening of April 20, two local residents were killed in an attack by an enemy FPV drone on Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The strike damaged high-rise buildings, private homes, and vehicles.
