Russia attacked Ukraine with drones; air defense forces destroyed and intercepted 131 drones

On the night of October 3, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 157 attack drones. The enemy launched the drones from four directions, and the weapons used included Shahed-type strike UAVs, “Gerbera” drones, and “Parody” decoy drones.

According to preliminary data from the Ukrainian Air Force, as of 9:00 a.m., air defense forces had destroyed or neutralized 131 enemy drones.

Russian troops used 157 attack drones in the attack, including 45 jet-powered drones.

The drones were launched from the following locations:

  • Bryansk;
  • Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Russian Federation;
  • the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk;
  • the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea—Gvardeyskoye.

Among the aerial targets were Shahed, “Gerbera,” and “Parody”-type decoy drones.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, as of 9:00 a.m., air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 131 enemy UAVs, including Shaheds, “Gerberas,” and other types of drones.

At the same time, the consequences of the Russian attack were also recorded.

Enemy airstrikes were recorded at 12 locations. In addition, the downed enemy targets and their debris were recorded at five more locations.

In addition to the nighttime attack, Russian forces attacked the Odesa region in the morning with “Banderole”-type loitering munitions.

The consequences of this attack are currently being assessed.

The air attack continued: as of the time of this report, several enemy drones remained in the airspace.

This is according to a report from the Ukrainian Air Force. 

Over the past 24 hours, Russian occupation forces carried out 737 strikes on 55 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. Two people were injured as a result of the enemy attacks.

On the evening of October 2, Russian troops launched another attack on Dnipro. A fire broke out in the city, and debris from the strike fell on the parking lot of the Dnipro City Council. Information regarding possible casualties is currently being verified.

On the morning of October 3, Russian forces struck the North Bridge in Kyiv. Prior to this, a series of explosions rang out in the capital amid an air raid alert and the threat of attacks by strike drones.

Prior to this, the Russian Federation—the aggressor state—had attacked a bridge in Kyiv, Ukraine, for the second day in a row. An evening drone strike on the closed South Bridge marked yet another attack on the capital’s infrastructure.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia—the aggressor state—may intensify its attacks on Ukraine ahead of the U.S. midterm elections scheduled for November 3. He made these remarks in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El País.
