Russia strikes Naftogaz facilities for second day, critical damage reported
For the second consecutive day, Russia is deliberately targeting Ukraine’s oil and gas infrastructure. Production facilities of the Naftogaz Group, including Ukrnafta, have come under attack. Critical damage has occurred, and some equipment has been shut down, according to Naftogaz CEO Serhiy Koretsky on Facebook.
He stated that the attacks are systematic and specifically aimed at production infrastructure that ensures the extraction and operation of the sector. In just the past two days, Russia has used nearly 100 Shahed-type attack drones against Ukrnafta’s production facilities. These are not isolated strikes but massive waves of attacks intended to inflict maximum damage on energy and industrial infrastructure.
“There is critical damage. Equipment operation has stopped. Rescue teams and company specialists are working to address the consequences of these attacks. Immediately after this, restoration work will begin,” Koretsky said.
After emergency and rescue operations are completed, the company plans to move straight to the recovery phase. “Immediately after this, restoration work will start,” he emphasized.
Additionally, President Zelensky highlighted the main shortage in Ukraine’s air defense systems and spoke about the performance of Ukrainian missiles.
