Russia resumes strikes on Kyiv after three-day pause
Russia, the aggressor state, has resumed strikes on Kyiv, Ukraine, after a three-day pause in attacks on the capital ended. According to France 24, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv due to the threat of an enemy drone attack. Early Tuesday morning, AFP journalists heard a series of powerful explosions in the city.
Drone attack
Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported that Russians attacked the Boryspil and Fastiv districts with drones. The Kyiv City Military Administration urged residents of the capital to take shelter.
According to AFP, explosions in central Kyiv triggered car alarms. Russia's state-run TASS news agency had earlier confirmed that the pause in strikes had ended.

Pause during visit by US envoys
As France 24 reports, Vladimir Putin, president of the Russian Federation, the aggressor state, ordered a three-day suspension of strikes on Kyiv in connection with the visit to the Ukrainian capital by US President Donald Trump's envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Over the weekend, they visited the Ukrainian and Russian capitals.
Witkoff said there had been progress in negotiations with Ukraine and Russia and suggested that trilateral peace talks on ending the war could resume.
