Russia is testing a new ballistic missile for strikes against western Ukraine – GUR

Russia plans to conduct final tests by the end of this year on a new type of ballistic missile with a range of up to 800 kilometers, which it could use to strike targets in western Ukraine. The aggressor state is increasing the intensity of its missile and drone strikes, seeking to ramp up ballistic missile production, and working to extend the range of its weapons.

The intensification of attacks is part of Russia’s strategy aimed at exhausting Ukraine and placing additional pressure on its socioeconomic system. Russia is not abandoning its strategic goals in the war and continues to prepare for a protracted conflict; in light of this, Ukrainian intelligence has called on international partners to intensify sanctions and restrict the enemy’s access to foreign components for the production of long-range weapons.

This was reported by Major General Vadym Skibitsky, deputy head of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate.

Ukraine and Russia may agree on a limited ceasefire by winter or at the start of the heating season. One possible option is a mutual cessation of attacks on energy infrastructure.

Following the meeting in Kyiv, Witkoff announced peace talks in the Ukraine-Europe-U.S. format.
