On September 26, Russian forces launched 221 assaults—where was the fighting fiercest?
Over the past 24 hours, on September 26, there were 221 combat engagements along the front lines. Russian forces carried out 90 airstrikes, dropped 289 guided bombs, deployed over 10,000 kamikaze drones, and carried out 2,729 artillery attacks. The highest number of attacks was recorded in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk sectors—26 in each.
Russian troops continued offensive operations along the front line. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of 8:00 a.m. on September 27, Ukrainian forces had engaged in 221 combat encounters with the Russian army over the previous day. The occupiers carried out 90 airstrikes and dropped 289 guided bombs. In addition, the Russians deployed 10,489 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,729 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas. Twenty-six of these attacks were carried out using multiple-launch rocket systems.
Ukrainian aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck four drone command and control centers, two artillery systems, and four key and logistical facilities of the Russian forces.
Situation in the North
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the Russians carried out one assault operation. The enemy also launched one airstrike using two guided aerial bombs and carried out 51 shelling attacks.
In the Sumy region, the following areas came under Russian artillery fire: Bezsalivka, Korenok, Rohizne, Tovstodubove, Potapivka, Sopych, Kucherivka, Fotovizh, Yastrubshchyna, Bachivsk, Shpil, Hirky, Gavrilova Sloboda, Starykove, Prohres, and Nova Huta came under Russian artillery fire. In the Chernihiv region, Buchky came under shelling. Sukhodil suffered an airstrike.
Fighting in the Kharkiv and Lyman directions
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Ukrainian forces repelled four enemy attacks. The Russians attempted to advance toward Ternova, Kozacha Lopan, and Lyman.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy attempted to improve its positions three times. Attacks continued in the direction of Kupiansk, Radkivka, and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi.
In the Lyman sector, Russian troops launched 12 attacks. The enemy attempted to advance toward Novoselivka, Drobysheve, Lyman, Dibrova, Stavky, and Cherneshchyna.
In the Sloviansk sector, five assaults took place. Fighting occurred in the areas of Kryva Luka, Rai-Oleksandrivka, and Mykolaivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces launched a single attack toward Kostiantynivka.
The highest number of attacks occurred in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk sectors
The Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk sectors were the most active over the past 24 hours. The General Staff recorded 26 attacks in each sector.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian forces attacked in the areas around Kostiantynivka and in the direction of Illinivka, Torske, Rusyn Yar, Pryiut, Shakove, Vilne, Stepiv, and Kuchero Yar.
On the Pokrovsk sector, the occupiers attempted to advance 26 times. Their attacks took place in the direction of Dorozhne, Hannivka, Novyi Donbas, Bilytske, Dobropillia, Svitle, Hulyve, Serhiivka, Molodetske, Novomykolaivka, Krasnopodillia, and Novopavlivka.
What Happened in the South
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the Russians launched two attacks toward Voskresenka and Berezove.
In the Huliaipil sector, the enemy made six attempts to advance toward Kosivtseve, Vozdvizhivka, Rivne, and Hirke.
In the Orikhiv sector, Russian forces made one attempt to improve their positions toward Malaya Tokmachka.
In the Dnipro sector, the Russians did not conduct any offensive operations.
In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, Ukrainian forces detected no signs of Russian offensive groupings forming.
Thus, the majority of assaults over the past 24 hours occurred in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk sectors. At the same time, Russian troops continued to attack in other sectors of the front, using artillery, aviation, and a large number of attack drones. This is stated in a Facebook post by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Over the past day, the Russian army lost approximately 1,690 soldiers. Total Russian personnel losses since the start of the full-scale war have reached approximately 1,528,970. During the same period, Russian forces lost dozens of pieces of military equipment, including 57 artillery systems, seven armored vehicles, and eight tanks.
On the night of September 27, Russia attacked Ukraine with 170 strike drones, including 76 rocket-powered ones. As of 7:30 a.m., air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 147 enemy drones. At the same time, strikes were recorded at 18 locations, and debris from downed targets fell at eight additional sites.
